I watched the first 2 episodes before calling it quits as this was cancelled after only 1 season only. It's pretty much an all female cast but given the story is a ten year reunion at a Catholic all girls school it makes sense so not going to ding it for that. There are some feminist comments and while I don't remember anything being said in the 2 episodes there
is a strong suspicion that at least 2 of the characters are lesbian, and I am guessing several others as well. There is also a heavy dose of DEI diversity casting in characters. This is supposed to be a comedy first and foremost with the apocalypse setting appearing to be a secondary only plot device to keep them all stuck in one place. As I said it's supposed to be a 10 year reunion making them in their late 20's but the writing and characterizations are firmly set in high school. Everybody
is annoying, unlikable, irrational and overly emotional. Nobody acts realistically for the situation they are supposed to be stuck in
and the all act like they are still in high school with petty stupid squabbles and instant mood swings if someone looks at them wrong.
Every single one of them is so stupid it's hard to believe anybody actually managed to graduate in the first place. All the humor is
of the annoying eye rolling characters screeching at each stuff so if you like that type of thing there's plenty here.

More Racist Woke Jordan Peele Garbage
I shouldn't be surprised really, Jordan Peele is the most racist critically celebrated producer of mediocrity and garbage since Spike Lee.
While he produces instead of directs this it's all still there. Mostly black cast who are all good intelligent people surrounded by terrible
evil white people. The entire premise of this movie is the exploitation of black athletes by the evil white people and this new upcoming
star black quarterback has to sell his soul to a demonic cult of all white rich people to be a star. He has to defeat the previous black
star player, who's sold his soul to the white cult. He then rejects the white cults offer and the movie ends with the black man slaughtering
all the white cult members clearly meant to be the good wholesome smart black man escaping the evil clutches of the white man taking advantage of and using him. I don't think it gets much woker than this racist garbage. I saw a lot of articles and reviews talking about the
great performance of the lead. I mean if spending most of the movie standing there looking straight ahead with no expression on your face is
impressive then sure. Wayans is a miscast as the former football great who seems to be intent on giving a performance bordering on comedic parody while the rest of the movie wants desperately to be artsy pretentious horror. Long lingering shots of nothing, or flashes of quick cut edits interspersed throughout the movie pretending it's deep and impactful. Just skip it like I should of, it's not worth wasting your time on.

Let's see.
I bet Gen Z influencers dig this film with such super terrific jobs these imaginary characters have traveling all over the globe writing about 5-star resorts, staying for free, eating, drinking and partying with the destination being a gay wedding.
People We Meet on Vacation is not a rom-com I want to keep. It's no Eternity, which is actually a great movie, and it's not The Kissing Booth. Standard faire, for the most part, with a large amount of cringe stuffed into the early parts of the film. And shitty music.
There's absolutely no reason we need this ultra-lame, contrived love story sandwiched between two gay men getting married. There you have it. To check a box. If you make it past the men pooling it up in the beginning all boxes are checked until the end when they get happily married. Other reviews are correct, there's no need to continue watching. The story is garbage and I think it was just a vehicle for getting gay marriage into yet another film.
Previous review:
I found this movie today and was surprised to see a review on this site already. Some comments and reviews they say it's a gay focused film. I'll never downvote or call out shutting off a film once the obligatory gay couple pops up, usually making out or otherwise in bed with each other. The problem is, absolutely no reviews, trailers, wiki or anything else from the media giants mention this film being gay focused. So now I'm going to watch it.
Let's see.

What a surprisingly funny little movie. While it does take place around Christmas I would not call this a Christmas movie. Good acting and the jokes mostly land. There are a few cringe comedy moments and sometimes the Russ character can be a bit too over emotional but I think that's more the type of movie than a woke element. It gets a little sappy and corny in a couple of places but nothing too bad. I do think you need to be a dog person to really get all the jokes out of this movie, or at lease an animal person in general. The comedy is mostly clean and family friendly with a few little innuendo jokes that will most likely go over little kids heads. If you have watched any rom-coms at all then the story is the usual by the numbers cliché and you know what's going to happen anyway but that's kind of the point of these right? The only thing that might be considered woke is that her friend is black, his friend/co worker is black and their vet is black, this seems unlikely however it is set in Boston which has a higher than average black population. There's also the fact that none of their acting is bad and the characters didn't seem forced and race is never brought up or made an issue. I just can't see giving it a woke point over that.

Fun different spin on classic sci-fi!
Pretty decent movie! Honestly, I think I may have seen it when it came out in 2018 because when I was watching it tonight, it was vaguely familiar. It's a solid 5.5/10 and slightly forgettable, so that tracks. If you're looking for a unique spin on the sci-fi classics with no woke nonsense, this one will do it for you. On Netflix as of 1/10/26.

Great Film
One of the all time great movies. Made before Hollywood really took up lecturing to the audience.

Good natured show, but ends up being Super Woke.
The first season is full of half-hour comedies that stress being kind, and doing the right things. So far, so good.
The second season becomes a bloated hour long comedy-drama, -- and then by the third season, it is full on Woke moralizing. The attack on the Nigerian restaurant is the kind of violence that the political Left engages in on rare occasion, but that never really comes from the political Right, except of course in Hollywood stories.

First Episode Was Very Woke
I stopped after the first episode because it was clear that conservative politicians and their followers were portrayed as evil fascists. And the "kidnapping" was yet another liberal wet dream invented out of whole cloth. So sick of that.

I enjoyed the Part Two movie much more.
I am not big on Broadway musicals, and it has been over a year since I saw this movie, so I could be wrong, but I don't remember it being Super Woke.
The idea is that the witch was a nice person to begin with, and other characters were the truly bad people. If the bad characters were supposed to be American conservatives, then it was woke I suppose, but I didn't remember that being the case.
This movie is a total yawn unless you like Broadway-style song and dance. But the Part Two film, released in 2025, was more interesting and worth seeing.

PURE COMEDY AT ITS CORE!
Exactly!
This is a show by one of the best comedians on the planet, and every time I watch it, it makes me laugh all over again.
Not a single moment wasted!
