Nothing woke
Pretty good show overall. I thought it had some flaws in parts (execution, storytelling, script) but some of the acting was great, the choreography fantastic, and it was a thrilling watch all the way through. No woke elements in my opinion. Or if any, very mild.

Best of the Best
Great show, makes fun of society at large. Very little politics, so was less offensive to either party. This is the standard for late night talk shows.

Political, but funny and irreverant
Wish it was more middle of the road politically, focuses mainly and joking about the left, but on occasion roasts some dumb republicans. Enjoyable and feels like a group of friends that make fun of each other, with less worry about "offending" someone.

Hilarious!
Crazy how great this film is and how all the corporate media won't review it, and also how it shows the number of "bought" movie reviewers are out there. This helps explain how a movie can be horrible, yet get great reviews. I guess part of the "marketing budget" is paying these types of reviewers/critics?
Very funny movie that let's the grifters of racial division sink their own ship. Must watch!

Less philosophy, more action thriller
Well, slightly less philosophy. More like sociology. Anyway.
My main gripe is the Major trading depth of character for depth of cleavage. She's less borderline-psychopath bad-ass, more passive eye-candy. Not necessarily a good move, considering the franchise is built around her. On the other, the ensemble cast gets a lot of character building, so there's that.
Both seasons are mostly one overarching plot each, across 26 episodes, so casual viewer beware. Also, can run quite talkative, especially the 2nd gig (Individual 11).
Still, creative, well written, clever. Loved it.

Some call Oshii pretentious
and they very well might be right.
This one is probably too high-brow for it's own good, but I still loved it.
Exploring the GitS themes through Batou is a welcome change of pace; the visuals are mind-boggling, and the flawed pacing was OK with me.
Overall, probably a fantastic failure, but worth a see.

Season 2 gets a makeover from 3rd wave feminist writers
I loved the first season, but in season two they must have hired a bunch of writers from Disney apparently to inject girl bosses galore and render all the powerful men secondary characters including Dan Chase! They could have renamed this show "The Young Daughter" because Shawkat was made the center of the first half of the season because apparently they needed her to be in the desert so they could keep her in robes to hide her pregnancy weight. This show has been ruined. I keep watching to see if they even try to pull out of the nose dive.
Update: I kept watching. The "writers" have decided to turn Angela into a terminator even with her mom-bod. Never mind that she was never in combat like where her father learned to kill. They just keep shoving her up viewer's asses expecting us to buy this BS plot divergence. This is nothing but a 3rd wave feminism narrative.
And Zoe is now in the spy loop. She's making spy moves and saving Dan Chase's life. They have merely flipped the script on all the white men who were running shit. Now only women and men of color can get anything done. Hollywood garbage. Can it get more woke?
