Pha-Q woke's Reviews
Basically a family dramedy. Some mildly humorous moments but hardly laugh out loud. Decent acting but this is a golf movie at heart.
I think if you enjoy gold you may get more out of this. It's also a bit long at 2hrs than it really needs to be. The only thing a little woke is a running joke/theme about the golf tournament being a boys club and it's the first time a female has been allowed to play. It's a small thing but it feels forced in. I was getting pretty bored by the halfway point as it all kind of fells like the same jokes reused over and over and could of been a much shorter movie.

I am completely unfamiliar with the game this is based on but am aware of who Markiplier is. As an adaptation this may be a good one and those that know the game may get more out of it than I did. The acting is good as are the FX and sets. I found the story and pacing to be lacking.
At over 2hrs the movie drags a lot with long slow drawn out sections of nothing but the character taking photos, talking to himself and plotting
a course for the sub. I also would barely call this horror, more cosmic sci-fi with horror elements. It's not terrible by any means it's just not really for me. I didn't see anything I would consider woke. I don't know if the female lead is from the game or not but either way she doesn't come across as a girlboss at all. The cast is very tiny and she just seems to be the one in charge of that particular group. I've said it before but a female in a position of authority is not automatically a girlboss and a single female authority position is not instantly an agenda push.

This is a slow moving folk horror movie so if you looking for fast paced action horror this isn't it. The highlight is the great acting from
the Liz character, the other 3 are ok but not great. I think the movie would of benefited from casting a better lead male. This is a very
unsettling eerie film that uses atmosphere, shadows and editing to great affect. The FX are great but I feel like the use of CG in some scenes
was unnecessary and actually hurts the movie a bit. It can be a bit confusing at the start but it all comes together in the end. I think it could
of used a little more story at the begging for character setup as well. It just starts at the cabin with a couple that's been together for a year
and is apparently very serious yet they seem very unsure of each other and uncomfortable. They are also very suspicious of everything right away and we aren't given any context as to why. These are relatively small things overall and still a great movie if you like folk horror. As for woke, this is really hard to say anything about without giving away major spoilers and I don't want to for a movie like this. I can see where the ending could be taken as a possible feminist statement and female victimhood and speaking against male dominance. Given nothing leading up to it is woke I don't think it's meant to be taken that way but I'm really not sure. I think this one could be taken on how you view it but I can't deny there seems to be something there. I'll give it a one woke since it's only at the very end and it's more subtle.

I haven't seen the original foreign film this remakes. Basically a dark comedy about a dysfunctional couple going to a cabin each with a plan to kill the other, but their are escaped killers hiding in the attic. Another movie where everyone is unlikable. Your supposed to root for the couple
to escape and get back together but why? The wife is a horrible nasty selfish mega bitch and the husband is a pathetic weak, beta coward. The husband is an overly emotional buffoon while the wife is smart, calm and in control. She cheats on her husband and treats him like trash than blames him or everything and says it's all his fault she acts like she does. 3 out of 4 main male characters are dumb as rocks. There is an attempted gay rape scene and the female criminal is borderline girlboss material. The acting is ok but the characters are written horribly, despite attempts at dark humor it's really not funny. The final 40 or so minutes devolves into a ridiculous over the top gore fest that could of been an ok payoff if the first three quarters of the movie had been better. I finished it and it's sort of watchable just not great.

Holy hell i couldn't even make it through the first episode. Bad animation and unfunny cringe jokes. Angry steroid feminist with the shaved undercut hair, dei characters, gay characters. States that sexuality is a spectrum. Total woke trash cancelled after 1 season.

This suffers the same woke fate as Gladiator II did. Rampant modern femenism. Again they cast Numidians as all black Africans. This is
complete B.S. They were North African and NOT BLACK but a Mediterranean people. Here in ancient Rome I swear half the damn cast is black and naturally they are an oppressed yet good people. The acting is pretty bad, the CG and green screen are an absolute eye sore, the sets
are way to clean, plastic and fake looking. Forget about any sort of historical accuracy this is pure fiction. I barely made it through 1 complete episode and pulled the plug on this complete garbage.

I like the general idea here but I feel like I've seen something similar before just not sure where. It's a look at a possible afterlife scenario and what happens when we die. The acting is up and down but the story is very poorly thought out. This is a horrible afterlife and I would say closer to hell. So you get to choose an eternity but only 1 and once you choose you are stuck there forever without a chance to change. All the choices are extremely specific and would get old very very quickly and become repetitive. You can't go see any friends or family because if you do you are stuck in whatever eternity they chose to be in forever with them. There are tons of rules and if you break them you are banished to a black void for eternity. This sounds miserable. I found this rather unfunny and more annoying than anything with some rather unlikable characters. I made it to 40 minutes and just didn't care to go any further. As for the woke there is the usual DEI casting including the obese body positive black female. Then there is the 'Eternity' choices, most of the them are extremely woke worlds. Including 'queer world-no straights allowed', 'man free world-you've dealt with your last man' full occupancy of course and and 'Aristocratic world that pushed colonialism as theft of resources and land from native people'. There were others but you get the idea, it's pretty eye rolling and clubs you over the head with the messaging.

Loosely based on a Florida serial killer in the 1970's. This is a very well made movie with pretty good acting and the 70's period is very well
done. However it's marketed as a thriller but that's really a secondary story. It focuses way more on the family dynamic and teen angsty romance drama than anything else. I's not really a bad movie just not a serial killer thriller. The only woke is some DEI including the child characters black best friend. Another one I would really say is more of a 2.5 but for me I just don't think it's a 3.

All the usual DEI minority casting and feminism with women smarter and better than men. White female Clara's husband is revealed and to no ones surprise he's black. Just have to check that mixed race couples box they love so much. The acting is...average I guess though some of the kids aren't very good. The writing's not great and the dialogue's pretty bad. The main group of characters gets very annoying quickly.
This is another of those modern movies where they expect the viewer to root for and be on the side of a group of characters that are unlikable
and irritating. The original dystopian sci fi setup in the first 20 minutes gets totally abandoned for a standard 'group of characters takes shelter
in the wrong house' trope. This could of been set up in so many ways with the same results, group of delinquents rob a store and take shelter at a house, group of delinquents break down on the road, group of delinquents rob a house. The elaborate setup at the beginning seems mostly pointless and poorly thought out. While I did watch the entire movie it's nothing we haven't seen before. It's pretty horror lite but if you like those types of movies and can take the midlevel woke it might be worth a one time watch.

Initially I thought this French action movie was confusing and didn't make much sense. I didn't realize until 15 minutes in when the movie title in French came up on screen that it's actually the final
film in a trilogy. The original French title is Balle Perdue 3 but the English title gives no indication it's a sequel. The action sequences while
well done are reminiscent of 90's Hollywood. Every vehicles that explode into a fireball when crashed, fight scenes are highly stylized to look 'cool' while having no basis in reality. I can't say much about the story as it didn't make a lot of sense having not seen the previous movie. This just didn't interest me enough to go look them up though. For woke there is the usual DEI overrepresentation of minorities as well as having mostly females in authority roles. Overall maybe decent if you saw the
first 2 but average at best action movie. More of a 2.5 but rounded down to 2 for all the DEI junk.
