Given the differences between the books and the original animated movies and this keeping with the changes I'm considering this a remake of the animated movies and not an adaptation of the books. There is really no reason for this to exist. It is a pointless unnecessary cash-grab.
The casting is all wrong and almost none of the characters fit with the originals. The acting outside of Butler is really bad. These are based off of young children's books and the animated colorful look of the original fit perfectly. Here they go for a dark serious fantasy look but with all the slapstick cornball comedy and it doesn't work at all. The FX are a mixed bag with some shots looking pretty good and others appear to be half finished concept art. Then there's all the woke crap. Astrid is a change for the animated movie based on a character from the book, both blonde typical Nordic Viking.
Here they race swapped her for black, there are multiple other black Vikings in several scenes. There is zero historical evidence there were black Vikings. Fishleggs has also been race swapped to an actor from the New Zealand native Maori tribe. Ruffnut another character added to the animated movies as a twin for Tuffnut is now body positive obese. Feminism is in full affect here with multiple loud aggressive female warriors. Astrid is the typical unlikable overpowered female character. Pretend this never happened and just watch the animated films again, even the worst one is better than this garbage.

Early into episode one and there's already the good DEI minorities everywhere, the intelligent smart aggressive feminist and pretty much anybody other than white males who are all bad, bumbling and incompetent . Pretty sure the white female lead and the Indian Nemo will end up together to force in the mixed race couple.
The acting is poor and everything looks so fake and badly implemented green screen. It all looks overly airbrushed and artificially smoothed out,
possibly A.I processed. This looks like those campy corny 90's network fantasy shows but somehow worse. I couldn't even finish the first episode.

I watched season 1 when it came out in 2017 then there was a 2 year pause between seasons and I never watched season 2 until now. The review is mostly for seasons 2 as I don't remember enough of season 1 for a real review. The acting is very good and the show is at it's best when it sticks to what it's supposed to be which is psychological crime thriller. It's about a true story with real people who conducted interviews with serial killers establish a department at the F.B.I. for profiling. Unfortunately way to much time is spent on fake side story drama that doesn't matter and is just boring. The entire subplot with Bill's kid is so forced and unrealistic and serves no purpose but to take up time. Plus it's completely fictional and never happened to the real life 'Bill'. about halfway through the season it almost completely gives up on the interviews and profiling and turns into a manhunt. The character
of Wendy Carr is lesbian and there is a significant portion of every episode spent to her pointless lesbian relationship. However once again it's a complete lie, the real life 'Wendy' is not a lesbian, just more woke garbage to take up more screen time. About 20-30 minutes of every episode is actually a crime thriller and the rest is throughway force drama and woke. After episode 2 the focus becomes largely on a serial killer in Atlanta and from this point on the show takes
every opportunity to shove racism and anti-white garbage onto the screen. The lesbian is of course brilliant and much better than her white male partner on interviews but naturally she's oppressed in the workplace. The characters identity becomes 'I'm a lesbian' and it's forced into as many scenes as they can. Episode 5 has a lesbian sex scene as well as a straight white male being inappropriate and creepy towards the lesbian character. Episode 6 has an interview with a gay killer including some gay sex descriptions. There is a great show here but unfortunately
it's buried under all the woke agenda and filler fake drama that's just not worth wading through. Also cancelled after season 2 with no real closure.

This is really toy story in name only. You could watch this without having ever seen any of the other movies. The voice work isn't nearly as good
and everyone sounds tired and bored with it. The animation is great but that's to be expected. There's a few amusing moments here and there but nothing like the originals. There is a somewhat decent message about kids being addicted to screens and needing to get out and play more. However it shows the opposite trend of what's really happening where the screen addicted kids are the well adjusted socialized ones while the kids who go outside and play with toys are the oddballs who don't know how to socialize. In the end it pushes social connection and even surveillance as not really a bad thing. This is a feminist movie at it's core. All the male characters are secondary and relegated to bumbling comedy relief. This turned into the Jessie show and might as well have been a spinoff side story movie instead of a direct sequel. Most of the original toy characters are pushed into the background and have little screen time, even Woody is barely in this and Buzz is a beta who just follows Jessie around swooning over her in every scene. The only male human characters are a couple of dad's that are barely seen. The humans characters you do see seem to live in a fantasy world where white people are an extreme minority and all you see is DEI soup, I mean where there even any white characters in this?

The FX look good and the acting is solid. Some weird musical choices aside it's a solid star wars movie and better than season 3 of The Mandalorian. The biggest problem is there isn't really much of a story and in the bigger Star Wars universe it doesn't really matter. It's heavy on action scenes and they look good and there's no denying it's a fun watch. If you never watched the series or know the characters though I don't think you will get much out of it. The woke consists of the usual DEI casting choices. Weaver's character I guess is 'woke lite' as the leader of the Rangers but she never goes full girlboss. The ending sequence with her showing up in the fighter is a little much but she's never the feminist type here. I expected this to be much more woke. Basically if you liked the first 2 seasons of the series you will probably like this, if you like star wars but never watched the series it will probably be an ok watch.

More modern unfunny comedy that's more stupid cringe than humor. Every joke goes on way to long, past any point where it might of been funny. They rely far to much on dirty toilet humor and crude sex jokes than anything else. The story and writing is nothing new and a paint by numbers for this type of movie. My first thought when considering woke was it's not really too bad other than some DEI. Then I realized the only 2 main white male characters are both shown negatively. Cena's character is supposed to be successful but is really an emotional insecure disaster who's hard to imagine even navigating life being as neurotic as he is. They go so far as to even make him impotent. Meanwhile the black 'brother' who initially looks like they will be the walking disaster turns out to be the balanced smart character who helps the white male get it together. It's just another bumbling white male movie at it's core that misses the mark on comedy again.

Feels a lot like those direct to video movies that used come out all the time in the 90's. It even has the same weird out of place music
soundtrack and the bad acting. The only reason I made it all the way to the end is the story and idea is actually interesting and enough to
keep me watching. The writing isn't too bad other than the glaring plot hole of how Max ever got into the program with his condition. It's
clearly listed in his file so he should of never been eligible. It makes no sense and is never explained. While listed as Sci-Fi it's really
not. Set in the near future you would never know it's not present day. The opening scene is also rather pointless and serves only to waste
precious budget on an opening action scene. The characters don't matter and are never mentioned again, the scene itself clearly has no budget with terrible CG blood, bullet impacts and smoke FX. It should of been cut and the money spent better elsewhere. The only woke is maybe a little DEI casting thrown around but that's it. Not a terrible watch if you take the bad acting and don't mind slower paced thrillers over action.

Another mediocre bland shark movie. This isn't horror, it's more of a period drama than anything and for that it does ok. It looks the part
as far as costumes and sets go. The acting is decent but nothing great. That's about all it has going for it. Story-wise it's rather boring and
bland. The shark is barely there and the scenes it's in are poorly done with zero tension. You can see rather quickly the underwater scenes look
off and very fake. Turns out they didn't shoot underwater at all they just used lighting and added CG bubbles to fake it. It just doesn't work and
looks like a fake set. Then there's the woke. Set in 1946 Australia the dive company consists of an alcoholic useless white male owner who does nothing and his 2 divers. The brilliant knows everything white female and the best diver ever aboriginal black male. The villain is a racist white male. The female character is the modern feminist, perfect, knows everything, aggressive loud inserts herself into every situation and just generally unlikable. Couldn't stand her annoying character and just wished the shark would eat her to shut her the hell up.

A completely pointless unneeded series. The first couple of episodes showed some promise to at least be average than it all gets thrown
out in name of Disney feminism. What little story is pointless and badly done. The constant signing gets old and it becomes obvious every
good character just knows sign language and every bad character doesn't. The acting is so so, some decent some bad. The main character is ok but has absolutely no range in facial expressions at all. She spends the entire series with 1 expression, angry girl face. The writing is
utter garbage and makes not sense. Her powers are never really defined or explained, unless I missed it. The beginning seems to show some weird mystical (Alien?) underground beings of her origins but it's poorly explained. The constant flashbacks of the exact same things get very old
and annoying. On the positive side I will at least note they didn't get a 5 foot 100lb actress for the part. She's taller and has actual weight and muscle definition. That's about it for the positives. Some episode specific notes follow with mild spoilers.

ep 1-
Like a cliffs notes of her origin and place within the mcu. Shoehorning into daredevil comes across as forced since she was never in the show.
There's really no reason for that one scene anyway. There's a terrible scene were she is injured and riding a bike at high speed. She's about
to pass out and approaching a semi from behind. The truck lays on it's horn (why would you blow the horn for a rear approaching vehicle?)
She reacts to the horn and swerves away apparently forgetting she's DEAF!! It's a pointless scene to begin with and serves no purpose.

ep 2-
The feminism gets a bit worse in this episode. The 'comic relief' male sidekick is an annoying loudmouth and not funny. Magic pawn shop owner just happens to have whatever she needs and can somehow manufacture a new let. Her fake leg gets crushed and she appears to wince in pain from it.

ep 3-
Here's where it all goes to hell and cranks the feminism up to 10. Beginning flashback has a young girl who wants to join the native police force but women aren't allowed, only men. Then a group of male native police are ambushed and getting killed and she magically knows and runs and singlehanded saves them all and kills everyone in a laughable sequence. Maya suddenly turns into iron man and builds a high-tech accurate gun out of rollerblades complete with laser sight but can't fix her bent leg last episode. Roller rink fight scene is awful and has her destroying her way through a dozen or more men throwing them around and lifting them off the ground. She does not have super strength in the original comics so that's either bad writing or feminism.

ep 4-
Boring with long drawn out conversations that don't matter and nothing really happens. More interested in being a feminist native American
culture show this episode.

ep 5-
The finale decides again to focus on feminism and culture over anything else. Very slow, long drawn out scenes of nothing. The final showdown
is one of the most laughably bad feminist girl power scenes you will ever see. There's a giant monster truck that magically appears out of nowhere for one random scene that has never been seen or mentioned before.

This should of been really funny and the actors are capable but it's just not. 30 minutes of corny cringe 'comedy' and not a single laugh (but a lot of eye rolling) was enough for me. You can literally see every single joke coming as well and that doesn't help. The woke consists of DEI and the mixed race couple. The 2 fathers are idiot, emotional buffoons' and the wives are smart and rational. It's not so much a bad movie it's just not funny unless you like a particular sort of comedy.
