Is this the best we can hope for?
While this movie did not reference climate change, it did mention again and again the fact that the number of tornados has increased in the past few years. Also a plus was Glenn Powell's character, who was competent and charismatic.
That said, this is a movie of our time period. The female lead was a genius who knew how to control tornados and single handily saved the day at the end. I'm not saying that women can't be the hero, but in prior decades a male would have been in this role. Additionally, the romance or lack of it is also a sign of our times. The male lead chased after the female lead who remained indifferent for most of the film. It did seem that by the end that would end up together with him following her. I'd give this a 1.5 woke rating.

Not exactly woke
But they did go the gender swap and DIE casting route. Dr Teddy is male in the comics, not female. She's a decent actress so it didn't distract as much as Dr Christmas being black. No woke themes though. Would have pushed a 3/5 woke if the family was interracial, black, or hispanic.

A Rather Unserious Movie About a Somewhat Serious Topic
Wokeness: It's more "anti-woke", so be warned. Some are just as annoyed by anti-woke content.
My opinion: It emulates early 2000s comedies reasonably well, while delivering a clear message against biological men in women's sports. A lot of people said it was misrepresenting trans women in women's sports, but not only was it accurate, it became even more relevant with the Paris Olympics. I might be the only one that enjoyed Boreing's rather flat performance, that he did because no actor in Hollywood would touch this project. Kudos for DW for tackling the most sacred of progressive cows: transgenderism.
As a film, it's very much a small studio film with barely competent writing and acting but decent production values, and the final result rises above mediocrity.

Hit out of the park
"Moneyball" gets off to a slow start, but snowballs to greatness. There is nothing woke.
I needed this film. One of the two main characters is a young nerd who uses statistics to put together a winning baseball team in a way contrary to the common wisdom. I've done similar things in the past, with spectacular results. Now my company wants me to attack a problem that has thwarted every person, team, and contractor thrown at it. It is daunting, but this film was like a pep talk. Based on my preliminary research, I believe the problem is that management is doing everything the wrong way and ignoring the advise of nerds, just like in the film.
Nerds rule, managers drool. Learn it. Live it.

Funny the first time, wouldn't watch it again.
I had a few chuckles when I watched this movie, but it wasn't very funny and it basically relied on "REMEMBER THIS THING THAT HAPPENED FROM EARLIER THIS YEAR?!" gags. Unfortunately Ladyballers will not be understood or relevant even 3 years from now because of this. Am I Racist is a much better film in my opinion, but hey they have to start somewhere.

Not woke in the slightest
The other review exaggerates the "wokeness" of this movie to a high degree. It's a dumb movie, but it's not woke at all.

Curtis is not enough
Curtis does it for me. But not for this movie.
She used to be a smoke show, back in analog times. Also, a scream queen. She didn't have the wherewithal to carry a (real) movie as the leading role.
Also, 80s script. Incoherent, and incredibly contrived, from the get-go.
Silver tries, maybe a tad too hard, but his character is just a mess of dubious writing. Brown is solid, but his character should have found the villain immediately. As in, just exclaimed "I know his name", cue electric guitar.
I got so bored that I actually started doing some light work before the halfway point.

Cotton candy, goes down easy
Not Carpenter's best movie, but he knows his stuff, and it shows in this hybrid, half-vampire, half-cowboy movie.
Purportedly a horror movie, it doesn't take itself seriously, and it's a good thing. Nobody in there looks like an elite anything, Woods in his early fifties looks a tad fragile, Baldwin is somewhat well, stout, the squad tactics suck (pun intended), and everybody's been ran over by the Good Idea Fairy.
On the other hand, everything is decided by the rule of cool. Woods looks terminally cool, as he's wont to, Baldwin does a serviceable jaded cowboy and Lee an adorable zombie floozy, winch fishing is impractical as hell, but looks highly fun, and so on.
The result is stupidly rewatchable, hence the high grade.

Anti-Woke Perfection
Not only is this not woke it's fully anti-woke. The acting is good and the humor is spot on. This feels like one of those classic 90's comedies when movie makers weren't afraid to be offensive with their humor. The story and humor highlights the stupidity of the woke ideology and exposes it for the mental disorder that it is.

What likely happens during jury deliberation
DIE casting, but accurate for location, so technical woke free.

A REALITY CHECK!
As one of the reviewers already mentioned, the woke mob really hate this movie!! It doesn’t tiptoe around anyone’s feelings. This movie straight-up serves as a gritty wake up call for the "everyone deserves a trophy" one the main ideology of the wokesters.

ONE OF THE GREATEST TRILOGY
No other comic book film can stand toe to toe with The Dark Knight or even the trilogy as a whole.
